Making Radio, Day Three (1/15/15)

Nearly 48 hours after getting their initial instructions for creating a radio show, the students of MSCM 398 were hard at work, researching stories, editing raw audio, and planning the program for Saturday morning. Newsroom 2 was humming with activity.

This day also featured a lecture by the eminent Professor of Communications and Lincoln Chair Brian Winston. Widely recognized as a practitioner and scholar of documentary film, media ethics, media history, media technology, and the freedom of speech, Prof. Winston is the founding Chair of the British Association of Film, Television, and Screen Studies (BAFTSS). His books include Media, Technology, and Society (1998), Right to Offend (2012), and The Documentary Film Book (2013).

Dr. Michael Huntsberger is Associate Professor in the department of Mass Communication at Linfield College. He teaches courses in electronic media production, mass communication ethics, and mass communication history, and his research focuses on public media policy and technology.
